Artist Bio

JULIE is a daring artist and writer born and raised in California, though she doesn’t claim this as her true home. While her initial educational ventures include earning a Bachelor’s degree in English and Linguistics, she considers motherhood and her journey as an artist her true education. Officially launching her career in art in her late 30’s as a mother of four recovering from trauma, she completed The Mastery Program at Milan Art Institute in 2023.

Known for her quick wit and bold rhetoric, her artwork is a unique mix of impactful statements and whimsical innocence. JULIE believes strongly in not only speaking out against and shining Light on darkness and corruption, but also in protecting innocence and strengthening faith as a means to disrupt and combat the power of those evil things. She believes in the positive impact of bringing imagination, whimsy, and beauty into homes around the world. “I didn’t become a disruptor because I thought I was good at writing or art,” she says, “I became a disruptor because there were things God wanted me to say.” As a result, JULIE often begins her art pieces with the written word. Imbued with the power of these words, she sets to work in awakening the canvas with multiple layers of color and visual texture using various mixed media techniques. From this explosion of expression, powerful and authentic imagery emerges. Finally, oil paints are implemented with craft and mastery, ushering the imagery from the far reaches of the imagination to the very verge of reality.

JULIE currently enjoys her daily studio time in the quiet of the morning before dawn, when she can connect with God and feel the full potential of her creativity. She loves experimenting with new techniques and her favorite color to reach for is fluorescent pink spray paint. She looks forward to painting in many beautiful places around the world like Greece and Tuscany, and hopes to inspire a new generation of artists with art collections and instructional subscription boxes for children.

Artist Statement

If you’ve known me longer than about ten seconds, you’ll know I’m not shy about calling out tyranny and corruption. What isn’t the most apparent is why someone as unabashed as I am paints the seemingly whimsical and romantic things that I do. The answer to that is simple, really: because I believe in God’s ability to bring healing, purity, and innocence to corrupted places using (imperfect) willing and faithful people. Those that actively connect with God are given gifts from Him that can disrupt the Enemy and change the world. My art may seem odd (or even juvenile) when juxtaposed against my strong, bold words. But it is those very images of beauty, imagination, and innocence that have the power to destroy the Enemy’s world of darkness, depravity, and corruption. I paint powerful, impactful statements at times, yes. But it’s not all I paint, for this very reason. I invite you to awaken to the Enemy’s tactics and fight back — fight back with your bold and unabashed words and actions, fight back by protecting innocence and all that is pure.
